United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI)

APAFS joins the UN PRI as a “Network Supporter” for advancing the inclusion of responsible investment in investment processes.
The Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies (APAFS™) is proud to announce its official partnership with the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) as a Network Supporter. This recognition places APAFS among 53 global organizations dedicated to raising awareness and advancing responsible investment practices within the institutional investment community.
Leading the Way in Responsible Investment
As the leading advocate for responsible investment, UN PRI works to integrate environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) factors into investment decision-making. Its mission aligns with APAFS’ commitment to prudent stewardship, ensuring institutional investors across the Pacific Region adopt sustainable investment strategies that balance risk, return, and long-term impact.

About UN PRI

Established in 2005 by a group of the world’s largest institutional investors at the invitation of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, UN PRI now represents over $40 trillion in assets worldwide. Through its network, UN PRI equips investors with the tools and frameworks to incorporate ESG principles into their portfolios.
“We are very pleased to welcome the Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies as a Network Supporter and look forward to working with APAFS and its institutional fund members,” said Fiona Reynolds, CEO of UN PRI. “APAFS’ leadership provides a model for other institutional fund sponsor associations. It takes a forward-thinking organization to acknowledge the risks posed by environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, and I applaud their commitment to actively addressing these challenges.”

A Milestone for the Pacific Region

APAFS, a Guam-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, is dedicated to fiduciary education and advocacy across the Pacific. Becoming a UN PRI Network Supporter underscores APAFS’ commitment to integrating ESG factors into institutional fund management—a critical step for the region’s Small Island Developing States (SIDS), where economic resilience and environmental sustainability go hand in hand.
“Becoming the UN PRI Network Supporter in our region was a logical step in our advocacy for prudent stewardship,” said Daniel Roland, Executive Director of APAFS. “The inclusion of ESG factors in institutional fund management is particularly important in our region due to the fragile nature of our ecosystems.”
